Bio
Gene Gobbel serves as Controller at AREY Group, where he oversees financial operations, accounting functions, internal controls, and reporting initiatives across the company’s growing portfolio and development platform.
Gene is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 22 years of experience leading finance and accounting functions for a multifamily general contractor. During his career he has provided strategic financial leadership across areas including audits, forecasting, banking, insurance, compliance, and organizational growth.
Prior to joining AREY Group, Gene was first a CPA in public practice for 10+ years before serving in an held executive leadership role overseeing the financial operations for a large-scale multifamily construction company, supporting complex projects and long-term growth initiatives. His background includes extensive experience in construction, real estate, and operational finance.
Gene holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Furman University and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
A graduate of Furman University and Presbyterian College, Gene also played minor league baseball for the New York Mets Baseball Organization. When not working, Gene enjoys spending time with his wife Leslie, his four children and one grandchild.
